In the melting and blending process of plastic phase and rubber phase, rubber is vulcanized, and the obtained granular vulcanized rubber phase stably exists in the plastic phase in the micro-phase state. The raw material obtained by this method is called dynamic vulcanized Thermoplastic elastomer, namely thermoplastic Vulcanizate (in English, Thermoplastic Vulcanizate). It's called TPV for short.
TPV thermoplastic elastomer material is a new high performance polymer material between rubber and tree material, with the physical properties of vulcanized rubber and easy processing of thermoplastic plastics, excellent weather resistance and heat aging resistance, tensile strength and toughness, resilience, compression resistance permanent deformation and electrical insulation, and can be reused, green environmental protection, so it has been widely used.
At present, the most successfully developed thermoplastic vulcanized rubber in the market is the TPV with PP as continuous phase and EPDM as dispersed phase, and its output accounts for more than 90% of all the TPV varieties.
Because its rubber phase components are fully crosslinked, so the strength, elasticity, heat resistance and compressive resistance of the material has been greatly improved, and the fatigue resistance, chemical resistance and processing stability of the material have been greatly improved. IIR/PP TPV material is another kind of functional TPV used in the medical field. It is mainly used in the medical rubber plug industry to replace the traditional butyl vulcanized rubber material. IIR/PP TPV material not only completely solves the waste problem of medical vulcanized butyl rubber plug, but also can be formed many times, thus greatly reducing the cost; IIR/PP TPV materials can also be formed by thermoplastic processing, which greatly reduces energy consumption and improves production efficiency.

IIR/PA·TPV material, as a functional tire TPV variety, is mainly used for the inner lining of tubeless tires, and its adhesion to the inside of the tire plays the role of gas barrier layer. By replacing the thermosetting vulcanized butyl rubber to prepare the tubeless tire gas barrier layer, the weight of the tire gas barrier layer is not only reduced by 60%, but also the air tightness is increased to more than 10 times.
ETPV is actually a dynamic vulcanization process to disperse ACM(AEM) -like rubber particles into TPEE continuous phase substrate to achieve the purpose of hardness reduction. ETPV is a high performance crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer with excellent oil and high temperature resistance.
TPSiV, silica-based thermoplastic vulcanized rubber, is vulcanized silicone rubber particles formed on the thermoplastic elastomer substrate. According to the different thermoplastic matrix, the common TPSiV are: nylon matrix, TPU matrix and polyolefin matrix.
Compared with the usual thermoplastic elastomer, TPSIV has excellent oil resistance and chemical resistance, is not easy to absorb dust, the formula does not contain easy yellow additives, comprehensive mechanical property is good, easy to process coloring. It can be widely used in intelligent wearable devices, artificial leather, automobiles, sports and leisure and other fields.
